Located in one of Sydney’s most central suburban locations, this renovated Californian bungalow combines timeless traditional style with luxe modern finishes. It is spacious, yet inviting; luxurious, yet homey, and is perfect for anyone hoping to experience Sydney like a local.

The front of the home, complete with a double-space carport and lush green front garden, leads off from a tiled pathway onto a traditional bungalow porch. A rustic wrought iron gate leads down a side path to the backyard, while the front door is protected by a security screen and deadlock.

Upon entering, the front half of the home, which has been preserved with its 1920s ornate ceilings and updated with recycled dark-wood polished floorboards, holds two bedrooms and a formal loungeroom. Both bedrooms are street-facing, with wide windows, plantation louvers and carpeted floors.
The main bedroom is spacious and luxe, with a queen-sized bed, wall-to-wall wardrobe and Art-Deco dressing table. An ensuite leads off the bedroom, with a rain shower and skylight that drenches the room in sun. Further down the hallway is an opulent formal lounge room, entered via glass French doors and perfect for after-dinner drinks or relaxing in the morning with a coffee.

The modern extension of the home is located in the back half, tiled entirely in Italian travertine and with underfloor heating throughout. It is an open-plan living, kitchen and dining space, with a butler’s pantry, internal laundry, main bathroom with rain shower, and separate back toilet. The interiors are plush and contemporary, accented by a double-level sea-grass feature wall and sculptured feature lighting over the dining area.

It is more than easy to bring the outside in, with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that fold into the wall space to create an expansive entertaining area with greenery, swimming pool, BBQ kitchen and outdoor lounge space. Everything from landscaping to lighting has been thought of to create a tranquil and inviting atmosphere, perfect from summer through to winter.

Upstairs is a peaceful and spacious bedroom retreat, with an open-plan sitting room and study that leads into two double bedrooms. An expansive shared balcony overlooks the backyard, furnished with plush outdoor furniture and making it the perfect spot for unwinding after a long day. The bathroom holds a bathtub, rain shower and wall-to-wall cupboard and drawer storage, drenched in sunlight from sunrise to sunset.

Kensington is walking distance from Centennial Park, Randwick Racecourse, the University of New South Wales, Sydney Cricket Ground and Coogee Beach, and within twenty minutes’ drive from the CBD, surrounding beaches like Bondi and Bronte, and Sydney’s trendy inner city hubs. Check-in and check-out.

Standard check in time is 3:00 pm. Keys will be available to collect on site or from our office depending on the property selected. For those properties where keys are to be collected at the office we offer a meet and greet option during business hours at a cost of $50 + GST.

Standard check-out time is 11:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.

I.D. check and card authorisation.

We request the lead guest to forward their I.D. and we will secure a minimum $1000 security deposit which will be released once we confirm no damage was caused during your stay.

Smoking.

Guests are not permitted to smoke inside any Hotelesque properties.

Cleaning.

We carefully clean and prepare each home before you arrive and after you depart. If you would like any additional cleaning, housekeeping visits can be arranged upon request, subject to availability and a charge.

Payment.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express., Bank transfers are accepted for stays with a start greater than 72 hours from booking date.

Cancellation.

If you cancel up to 3 months before the arrival date, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid less the booking fee. If you cancel your booking within 3 months of your arrival or during your stay no immediate refunds apply. We will re-advertise the property for the cancelled dates and refund you the equivalent nights booked less $350 or 10% administration fee whichever is the higher.

Parties

There are no parties of any type to take place at the property. If any parties are held there will be an immediate penalty of $1,000 per day and the remainder of your stay will be terminated immediately with no refund.
